Jolanda Jones for Texas House 147

CHALLENGE: Jolanda "Jo" Jones was a candidate for Texas House District 147. Having previous served in elected office, Candidate Jones had garnered a reputation of appearing non-collaborative and divisive.

SOLUTION: Saint Pope Media created this video to show that Candidate Jones had the pulse of this diverse district and could unify all residents. The video encompassed a custom track that fused diverse versions of the classic song "Wake Up Everybody". The visuals focused on the diversity of the district which included Jones as a fluent Spanish speaker.

RESULT: Jones won 3 elections to become the newly elected representative for Texas House District 147.

Amanda Edwards for US House of Representative- TX 18
CHALLENGE: Former Houston City Council Member Amanda Edwards is a candidate for the US House of Representatives- TX18. She announced her candidacy after exiting the race for Houston's Mayor. A video was needed to highlight the one month anniversary of her announcement.

SOLUTION: Saint Pope Media created this video to highlight Candidate Edwards" announcement and commemorate her campaign announcement. The Saint Pope Media team utilized a multi camera approach to capture the footage and edit it into something wonderful.

RESULT: While this race is still currently in progress Candidate Edwards has emerged as the front-runner.

Case Studies
“BLACK GIRL MAGIC” HARRIS COUNTY DEMOCRATIC PARTY
CHALLENGE: Harris County — the largest in the State of Texas was facing a mid-term election where they were looking to sweep all of the offices within the county. There were no African American candidates at the top of the County ballot, however there were 19 women who had filed to run for various judicial positions.

SOLUTION: Saint Pope Media Chief Creative Officer Dallas Jones created the “Black Girl Magic” Campaign on behalf of the Harris County Democratic Party. The photo shoot was directed by Dallas Jones and shot by Saint Pope Photographer Christin McQueen. The photo was printed on billboards, posters that were placed throughout the community, as well as push cards. All of the literature included a commit to vote text number and website.

RESULT: The “Black Girl Magic” Campaign helped to increase African American turnout in the Harris County 2018 election leading to not only a 17 seat sweep for judgeships by the women but also a county wide sweep of every elected office for the Harris County Democratic Party for the first time in decades.

A Salute to Black Women
CHALLENGE: Tobacco use is the number one cause of preventable death among Black Americans, claiming 45,000 Black lives each year.

SOLUTION: U.S. Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester (D-DE) and U.S. Sen. Tom Carper (D-DE) have introduced legislation – the Quit Because of COVID-19 Act – to ensure Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) enrollees have barrier-free access to the full array of proven tobacco cessation treatments at this critical time.

RESULT: Additional Elected Representatives, specifically black women representatives, have joined the fight to support the legislation. This legislation will save lives and reduce health disparities.
